Perfect Saturday: Week 4, 2022

Good morning, and happy college football Saturday!

Thank you so much for starting off your morning with the Perfect Saturday newsletter from AB on FB. Your support means so much to me, and helps me to make covering college football my career.

I want to quickly catch you up on a few items from this past week. I put together a YouTube Video! It's about Tennessee's "Deep Choice" passing concept, and specifically how wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has been super effective on it this season. If you missed that video you can check it out right here on my YouTube channel. Now that I have a finished studio space I'll be putting out videos on a weekly basis, which I'm really excited about.

I wrote a pregame article for the Florida game that came out late last night. It's available to members of the Touchdown tier. In the article I breakdown what to expect schematically from Tennessee's huge game against Florida, and why I think it might be closer than many think. If that sounds like something you might be interested in it's posted on the website right here: Pregame: Florida at Tennessee.

Finally, just a reminder that I love to take postgame questions. If you're watching the Tennessee game today, and have a question you'd like to shoot my way, please do so with this form: Postgame Questions. I know that the form seems like overkill, but it helps me stay organized with details like when the questions come in and if there are a number of the same question. I'll do my best to answer every question asked. Usually I do that in a Twitter thread right after the game, but for some of the longer explanations I might tie it into the postgame article or a video.

Let's face it. Weeks One and Two were a great start, but last week was a let down for the Perfect Saturday newsletter. Troy and Appalachian State was the obvious choice, but I went away from it because it was on ESPN+. Bad call! Many of the games were blowouts, though, which tends to happen in Week Three as teams recover from major season openers and prepare for the conference schedule. We did nail the Purdue at Syracuse game in the early window and that counts for something. Here are this week's three must-watch games.
