Perfect Saturday: Week 5, 2022

Good morning, and happy college football Saturday!

Welcome to Week Five. Goodness. How are we already at Week Five?! The season takes so long to arrive, then you blink and it's almost halfway over.

Before we get started with today's game picks I just wanted to get you caught up on any AB on FB content you may have missed over this last week.

I released a second Tennessee Scheme Session video. This video breaks down the first Tennessee touchdown in their game against Florida. It looks a lot like a speed option play, which Tennessee ran twice against Akron in Week Three. However, I don't think that's what was going on, despite what the broadcast may have led you to believe. To check out the video go ahead and click on this link:

TENNESSEE Scheme Session - Week 4, 2022: It wasn't Speed Option!

I think of myself as more of a writer, so I wasn't sure how I would like producing video content. I just knew that it was important both in terms of reach and in ease of sharing information. I've honestly loved everything about it. I'll be posting quite a bit more on my YouTube channel in the weeks ahead. So, please subscribe to the channel if you never want to miss a video from me!

Also this week I wrote a postgame article breaking down the Florida game. Hendon Hooker had a ton of rushing yardage in the game, and I was shocked to see how many of those yards were actually from scrambling on designed passing plays. Tennessee already has a dangerous offense, but Hooker's ability to make something happen on the ground when nothing is devleoping in the passing game makes it truly lethal. Tennessee is off this week, but if you're still looking for Tennessee content you can find the Florida postgame at this link:

Postgame: Florida at Tennessee

Just a head's up, the article is behind a paywall. I don't want to come across as misleading in any way. All of the in-depth Tennessee pregame and postgame articles are available to members of the Touchdown tier. The reason for this is because of the amount of work required to produce great in-depth scheme writing. There are a ton of other Tennessee centric media options out there, many of which also charge a fee for access to their content. With all due respect to them I haven't seen anyone get as specific with the on-field scheme as I do. If that sounds like something you would be interested in I would love to have you as a subscriber! If you'd like to subscribe but don't think you can make it work financially please get in touch with me and I promise we can work something out.

Finally, keep your eyes out on YouTube for an additional Scheme Session video this week. I'll be breaking down a play from Tennessee's Week Two matchup with Pittsburgh. So, even though the Vols don't play today you'll still get some Vols content heading into game week against LSU.

With those housekeeping items out of the way, let's get to the picks! After a slightly disappointing Week Three we were back in the groove last week. All three games we picked last week were decided by one score or less. We'll absolutely take it. That's what this newsletter is all about. We're trying to find three games – one in each major time slot – that are worth your undivided attention. Here are Week Five's three games to watch.
